Chesterfield Child Contact Centre

This is a rewarding but complex role which ensures the smooth running of the Chesterfield Child Contact Centre on Saturdays when it is staffed by volunteers. This role is becoming available due to the forthcoming resignation of the present co-ordinator

It is a key role in the running of Chesterfield Child Contact Centre which offers supported contact between children and parents with whom they do not live. Usually there are difficult family issues which have led to this having to take place initially in the Child Contact Centre.

It is essential you have some knowledge or experience dealing with families in difficult situations and be able to understand the difficulties that parents often face and be sensitive to them. It is essential that you are well organised and can maintain systems.

We are an accredited supported Contact Centre of the National Association of Child Contact Centres. NACCC will provide co-ordinator training and we will ensure that you are well supported. There will be a handover with the existing post-holder.

The co-ordinator will provide services on a self - employed basis and be paid by invoice monthly at £10 per hour for 5 hours per week. There is flexibility when the work is done but generally there will be some work at the end of the week before the next contact session, and, following the session at the beginning of the week to pick up issues. It will be necessary to be available during working hours at agreed times as this does require some liaison (usually by telephone) with other agencies.
