‘Whit Walk’ 2018
‘JESUS IS THE ANSWER’
Dear all

Welcome to the newsletter for the Whit Walk 2018.
This year we are covering the theme of ‘Jesus is the Answer’. When people find themselves facing problems in their lives they
will often ask ‘Does anyone understand what I am going through?
In the stories of Jesus life on earth we find that He went through
many experiences that we still see today.

He was born in a stable
with a makeshift crib (the animal’s food trough!) So he certainly
understands what it means to have a humble start in life. Before
long the family were refugees in a foreign land (Egypt) escaping
from the death threat of King Herod.
As we continue through His life we find Him weeping at the tomb
of Lazurus. (Bereavement) He talks about the ‘birds having a nest’
but that ‘He had nowhere to lay His head’. (Homelessness). There
were times when He was hungry. When He was in the Garden of
Gethsemane his disciples fell asleep and He faced the night alone.
(Loneliness)

He went around helping others but often He was
misunderstood and falsely accused by the Pharisees etc. The
crowd who one week were greeting Him as a King (Palm Sunday)
were within days shouting ‘Crucify Him’.
With so many other instances that can be found during His life He
certainly can understand when we suffer.
This gives plenty of choice for a theme for your tableau. We aim
to depict why Jesus is the answer by showing the situations He
went through while on earth. We would like the Tableaux to set
the question and show why ‘Jesus is the Answer’
Pray that our town will not just see a group of people who attend
church, walking through the town, but a group of people who believe
in a living God who can change lives if we just give Him the chance.
Tableaux

Whether on a lorry, in a crowd or walking, one of the main sections of
the Whit Walk are the tableaux. The more
tableaux the greater the impact!
