Welcome to Festival 2016, and to Holy Ground here at Cliff College!

Hi, I am Ian White, one of the tutors at Cliff, and I am the 2016 Festival Co-ordinator, working with a creative team to put on a great weekend especially for YOU here at Cliff College.

Holy Ground? Yes, ‘Holy Ground’ is our theme for 2016, and we want you to come and join us for a weekend of teaching, worship, laughter and friendship as we tread across the Holy Ground of this incredible site, and explore what it means to encounter a Holy God, be a Holy People, and live a Holy Life. It’s a weekend for everyone. We want the place buzzing with new friends discovering God’s blessing here on site at Cliff, but also want to invite old friends back (I know most of them, I’ve been here so long!) to revisit the place of God’s blessing in their lives.
This year we have changed the pricing structure. Many people have already taken advantage of the Super Early Bird and Early Bird Rates. These offers have now closed, but we would still love to welcome you on site, and we still have space left on the camping site. Almost all our indoor accommodation has now sold but, but do still get in touch if you wish to go on the waiting list, or if you want details of alternative indoor accommodation in the local area. There are still deals on campsite groups, and subsidies on the entrance fees are available for those on benefits.  Book NOW while there is still space!
What is happening at Festival 2016? Well, speakers so far invited include Steve Wild, Steve Chalke, and Mark Dunn-Wilson. Nomad & Stance from YFC will be on site bringing the football cage, and their dance skills, as will our old friend Bob Hartman, the Master Storyteller. The Awesome kids work will be headed up by Lianne Smith from Scripture Union, and of couse Funky Sunday and the famous Festival Sing-a-long will be in the programme, courtesy of Pete Sheath and Helena Kittle.

Ignite and Pulse will be rocking in a new Youth Zone, and we are developing a new Storytelling venue headed up by Laura Smyth, where stories will be shared throughout the day. Play it by Ear will be being dramatic again, and look out…..the One Way UK puppet team are coming! And of course for the active we will have Adventure + taking us to new heights on the climbing wall!
This year we are also planning a big fundraiser for those less fortunate than ourselves, and we are going to be working with a local homeless charity and Food Bank to ensure nothing is wasted. 2016 will see the return of The Bog Squad, and we have plans for a reflective labyrinth around the Cliff Cross. We have invited 35 Chapel Walk to host a dramatic art installation across the orchard, and the programme is going to include a Prayer Mountain session on Monday led by Ashley Cooper, one of the new Festival Pastors.
The Market Village is expanding – so lots to be inspired by, and also to spend some of your money on! As always, lots of great preaching, worship, seminar teaching, coffee, ice-cream – yes, there will be music, and dancing, and lights, and fun – but above all this will be the place for a real encounter with God. Holy Ground – a weekend that could change your life.
