An exciting opportunity
has arisen to help drive forward the community ministry and commercial activity
of St Thomas’ Church in Chesterfield.
Based in the St Thomas’ eco-Centre
we are seeking a resourceful and innovative ‘people’ person with a passion for
hospitality and attention to detail that can lead a dedicated team of staff and
volunteers who have made our Centre a vital hub for community and a first
choice venue for business. Our Centre incorporates a purpose built coffee shop,
kitchens and multi-sized meeting spaces that creates a relaxed and comfortable
gathering place for individuals, groups or parties. As well as managing our
busy Centre you will hold responsibility for exploring and developing the many
new business ideas we have as an enterprise company as well as helping us
discover new ones that will further enrich the life of St Thomas’ and extend
the ministry of the church.
The Role
The role is a mixture of skills
which include commercial (making sure everything balances and works on
the day), innovative (the lead person responsible for all new
business ventures), people focused (leading a team,
working with clients, customers and church members of all ages and
backgrounds), analytical (seeing things before the rest of us, holding
budgetary responsibility for our six-figure annual turnover).
Above all you will have a passion
for Christian hospitality and desire to see the ministry of the church extended
through creative commercial activity. You will be enthusiastic and ready for
the challenge in a role which gives huge amounts of autonomy, creative licence,
and scope to make a massive contribution to advancing the Kingdom of God.
