THANK YOU EVERYONE AT PARKSIDE SCHOOL

Chesterfield School Pastors are so proud to be part of the family at Parkside Community School.  Over the last couple of weeks staff and pupils have been bringing donations for the Chesterfield Foodbank wanting to help other people who are finding life difficult at the moment.  The donations were gratefully collected by John Kelly, Distribution Supervisor (& School Pastor) and Peter Broomhead, Warehouse Manager.

On Tuesday we had another treat courtesy of Parkside when School Pastors went along to the Community Carol Concert. There were readings and carols led by Holymoorside Band and some wonderful performances by the children: solos, duets, choir and ukelele band.  It was a lovely evening and we really enjoyed being part of it all.

Looking forward to starting the brand new 'School Pastors Club' for students in January 2016.

CHRISTMAS TREE FESTIVAL AT ST THOMAS'

CARE FOR THE FAMILY IN SHEFFIELD

The problem with parenting is that normally by the time we get the hang of it – we’re redundant! Parenting is a mixture of highs and lows … and everything in between. It can bring some of life’s biggest joys, but also its greatest challenges. For most of us, a bit of encouragement and a reminder that we’re not alone can make a real difference.

The aim of this brand new event is to have you leaving inspired and empowered as a mum or dad. During the evening we’ll share practical tips that you can take away and put into action at home straight away. It certainly won’t be dull – there will be lots of humour and you may even shed a tear or two.
Hope to see you there!

CLIMATE CHANGE RALLY

In France, massive planned marches of over 500,000 people were cancelled for security concerns, but people rallied to collect and display over 20,000 shoes of people who wanted to march -- including the Pope’s and the UN Secretary-General’s! -- placed at the Place de la Republique, right on the doorstep of the climate talks:

In Chesterfield, the numbers at the rally were smaller but the commitment to see our government
make wise decisions regarding climate change and be good stewards of the beautiful world God gave us is just as passionately held.

In his opening address to world leaders, UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon stressed: “The peoples of the world are also on the move. They have taken to the streets, in cities and towns across the world, in a mass mobilization for change… They expect each and every one of you to show leadership equal to the test. History is calling.”
