Everybody Hurts Parent Support Group
Freelance Development Co-ordinator


Fixed term contract – 1 year dependent on funding application being

successful

Research has shown that there is a gap in provision for support to parents who

are abused by their child/children. “Everybody Hurts” addresses this need.

Survival of the group depends on successful marketing and attracting funding

in the current climate of cut backs. We are looking for a freelance worker to

expand and develop funding streams in order to market and successfully set up

additional support groups. They will also be required to establish a volunteer



programme and deliver awareness presentations.

It is essential the successful candidate has an *extensive knowledge of Child to

Parent abuse and the effects it has on families. They must also have a nonjudgemental



attitude, counselling experience and the ability to write and

deliver training programmes for group members.

The role is based primarily in Chesterfield, although there will be a

requirement to attend events around the county which may be in the evening

or weekends.

and have a non- judgemental attitude. This is fundamental to the post.

INSPIRE - SCHOOL OF DISCIPLESHIP

 
We’d like to remind you of the upcoming
School of Discipleship
that we at Inspire are running in Chesterfield over the coming year.

The School of Discipleship begins with an Introductory Retreat Day on Saturday 1 November from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Holmebrook Valley Family Centre. The retreat is free but you need to register in advance please.
 
Following that, there are two streams of teaching which will run on four Friday evenings and Saturday mornings over the coming year:
  1. Leadership Conversations are particularly aimed at people who have, or are exploring, leadership responsibilities, of any kind (which basically includes everyone since we are all called to lead people to Jesus!)
  2. Teaching Retreats are for anyone and everyone! We will be helping one another to abide more deeply with God so that we can live more missionally in the world.

PRAYER VIGIL FOR EBOLA VICTIMS AT SPIRE

' At the request of Bishop Humphrey and Archdeacon Christine, Vigils of Prayer for those affected by the Ebola Epidemic are being organised.

There are to be three vigils, one in the Cathedral, one in Chesterfield and another  somewhere in the north of the Diocese.

The Chesterfield Vigil will be on Monday, 3rd November beginning (for those who wish to attend) with the usual 12.15 Eucharist and will end after Evensong at 5.15. It will be in the Holy Cross Chapel at the bottom of the North Aisle. It will be a silent vigil but there will be some appropriate material to assist with focusing our thoughts and prayer. People are welcome to come and go as they please'.

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED FOR BRIMINGTON FOODBANK

                                                                               Emergency food for people in crisis

Brimington
Churches Together in Brimington are seeking to set up a Chesterfield Foodbank distribution centre in Brimington.  This centre will seek to provide food, help and support to people from the community of Brimington and from across Chesterfield.

We need your help to run this centre. We are looking for people to help run the centre by volunteering to offer around 3-4 hours of your time each month to do one of the following roles: 

*Pack up food parcels*
*Greet people and serve refreshments* 
*Chat with people collecting parcels* 
*Collect food from the warehouse*

CHAPLAINCY DISCUSSION

A final reminder – that this Tuesday, October 14th, 7.30, we meet at The Saints Coffee House upstairs to hear Canon Paul Morris of Workplace Chaplaincy Derbyshire and to meet some of our existing local chaplains. We will be exploring together what additional opportunities there are for chaplaincy and who might help to meet those challenges –particularly lay people. Paul Morris will be offering training to volunteers.
This is a general meeting, not limited at all as to who may come.
